Product Description

MECHANIC I936-ESD-IS Precision Soldering Tip (Bent Type)

Description

The MECHANIC I936-ESD-IS tip is a high-precision accessory intended for technicians using conventional 936-type soldering stations. Its "IS" geometry (ultra-fine curved) is a strategic asset for repairing high-component-density motherboards. It allows access to solder joints located under ribbons or near plastic connectors without risking accidental contact, thanks to its optimised tilt angle that keeps the handle body away from the work area.

Designed for demanding micro-soldering, this tip benefits from oxygen-free copper (OFC) manufacturing, ensuring efficient thermal conductivity despite the fineness of its point. The ESD-Safe surface treatment prevents the accumulation of electrostatic charges, thus protecting sensitive CMOS components and integrated circuits. The multi-layer coating incorporates an anti-corrosion barrier that limits tip "pitting", a frequent phenomenon on extra-fine points subjected to aggressive fluxes.

The use of the I936-ESD-IS series is particularly recommended for placing jumpers (bridging) in enamelled copper wire and reworking solder on charging connector or battery pins. Its 0.15 mm tapered point allows for surgical precision, essential for not creating solder bridges between tracks with spacing of less than 0.5 mm.

Workshop Advice & Usage

Due to its extremely fine point, heat transmission is slower than on a bevelled tip. To compensate, avoid excessively increasing the station temperature (do not exceed 350°C), as this would weaken the tip. Prefer using a high-quality soldering flux to facilitate thermal transfer. Clean exclusively using a brass sponge or a clean damp sponge; the use of sandpaper or files is strictly prohibited as it would destroy the protective plating, making the tip unusable within minutes.
